Angel Cakes with fresh berries and whipped cream

I have a sweet tooth like no other, so I am constantly looking for ways to satisfy that without feeling extremely guilty ;-). Here is one that has been a staple in meeting sweet tooth cravings!

  • 12 Pre-made mini angel food cakes (Costco for $9.59)  (you can freeze excess)
  • Blackberries ($4.99)
  • Strawberries ($6.49) – Both these berries were in season so we got a GREAT deal and ended up with a huge quantity of both!!)
  • Organic Whipped Topping ($2.99) – I need to find out the brand of this again because it was fantastic, no high fructose corn syrup, and it was only 20 calories per tablespoon!!

Total Spent for 12 desserts : $24.06

Ok so the next step is pretty easy, just wash and slice your strawberries, scoop your two tablespoons of whipped topping on the mini-cake and top with your berries! Now sit back, relax and take each bite veeerrrry slowly.

About healthyeasyfoods

Food makes me happy. Fake food and chemicals being added to my food do not make me happy. I have a growing concern about two major things. 1. The quality of food. 2. Our choice of consumption of food as a nation. With this being said I can understand how an American lifestyle influences fast, easy and cheap to be the three magnet factors to food choice however I think we need to go back to the basics and remember just how easy it is to make good food, good for you without breaking the bank or spending hours sweating away in the kitchen.
